Environmental problems in Colombia
hello! I am Hilary Parra and I come to present my blog about environmental problems in Colombia
In Colombia there is an immense variety of factors that endanger our environment, I will talk about which affect much more and which must be taken into account primarily.
These factors would be:
- Droughts:
Droughts are a problem that has been seen for a long time, thanks to the climatic changes that the country is facing. These mainly affect rural areas such as farms, since they affect the planting of crops.- Deforestation:
Deforestation also affects us, since it causes the loss of biodiversity such as the habitats of different animal species, and also increases the rates of erosion, soil loss and carbon emissions, among others.
- Water pollution:
I also consider water pollution an important factor in environmental problems, because it causes alterations in ecosystems to the point of directly affecting the socioeconomic development of the regions, since the modification of water by substances turns it into a improper or dangerous resource for consumption, agriculture, fishing, among other activities.
- Air pollution:
This factor has been the cause of many deaths, as stated by the National Planning Department, since it is estimated that poor air quality is the cause of more than 8 thousand deaths annually, with associated costs of approximately 12.2 billion pesos, a figure that is equivalent to 1.5% of GDP.
As we can see, this seriously affects the environment of Colombia, that is why the objective of this blog is to inform people about what is happening in our environment and how it affects the country.
